Infrastructure in Traunkirchen

Traunkirchen

As one of the most enchanting and picturesque villages in the Salzburg Lake District “Salzkammergut”, Traunkirchen presents itself as a sanctuary of serenity and contemplation. The idyllic village square is located on a peninsula projecting from the western bank of the lake, against the imposing backdrop of the Traunstein mountain (1691m). In Traunkirchen, landscape and culture combine into a perfect setting for inspiration in seclusion, surrounded by nature in its breathtaking beauty.

The International Academy Traunkirchen

The International Academy Traunkirchen is situated in the complex of the former Benedictine Convent. The convent was established in 1020 by Count Wilhelm of Raschenberg-Reichenhall and populated by nuns from the Nonnberg Convent in Salzburg. The premises were carefully renovated and furnished with state-of-the-art technology in 2009 to meet the needs of the International Academy Traunkirchen.
